Phlebotomy Training Services are one of the most established providers of phlebotomy training the UK. We feel like we are an integral part of the phlebotomy network in the UK. However, it wasn’t always this way. We have slowly and steadily climbed our way to be classed as one of top the phlebotomy training providers in the country.
But where did we come from?
Phlebotomy Training Services we founded in 2007 by Alison Purkiss. Alison is a practicing phlebotomist with over 15 years’ experience. After working as a phlebotomist for a while she started to notice that there was an influx of phlebotomists who clearly had not received the same standard of training that she did, or simply did not hold themselves to the same standards that she held herself to. So she decided to do something about it.
And this is how PTS came to be. It was founded out of the desire to make sure that all phlebotomists had access to high quality training, and held themselves to the same standard that Alison held herself to; that they operated like the health professionals that they are.
This lead to PTS adopting a few key principles that still set us apart from our competitors to this day. All our training providers are qualified and practicing phlebotomists. But more than this, they are also qualified educators. All the knowledge in the world is useless if it cannot be passed on coherently. As they are qualified educators you can rest easily knowing that you will be able to learn as much as possible from them.
As well as this, we never have more than 6 students per trainer, with no more than 12 students per class (except in exceptional circumstances). This means that we can ensure each student gets the attention that they need to learn this skill. However, we know that practicing in a class and practicing in the real world are two very different things. This is where the experience and knowledge of all our trainers really comes into its own.
