Testimonials - Private Sector

"Since completing the Basic Phlebotomy Course, Dan and I are successfully taking bloods now every week.  We've both moved on from only taking it from men with obvious veins to being able to deal with pretty much anything and anyone. Thanks again for the training."

Dr. Catherine Bladen, University of Leeds

"Since the Basic Phlebotomy Course, i have taken blood eight times from the patients I have seen as part of my job on the South London Diabetes Study. So far, everything has gone to plan and i still get such a sense of relief as i see the blood enter the bottle indicating that i correctly found the vein. I was rated an eight out of ten by one patient who said that he experienced no pain as i inserted the needle. I took this as a compliment seeing as i had only been taking blood for one week at the time. I am very happy that i decided to do the Basic Phlebotomy Course and really enjoy that i have this added feature to me job."

Katherine Twist, Kings College London

"My achievement in this area has mainly been down to the tutors and how well the subject matter was delivered. Since the Basic Phlebotomy Course in September, I am now involved in the BBV testing of clients. I've had a number of successful patients, it has given me the 'drive' to carry on testing as the benefit (for clients) has opened the oportunity for them to discuss and address an issue which, I believe, they have been concerned about but have been fearful due to the lack of current information, knowledge and understanding of treatment. I am aware that there is still a great deal to learn about phlebotomy especially with my client group and am considering the Advanced Phlebotomy Course in the future."

Francis Rocha, Harm Reduction Service - Brighton

"I have attended the Basic Phlebotomy Course and found it to be extremely beneficial. The course provided extensive theory and allowed me to demonstrate the practical knoledge I had learned in a safe and secure environment. The course organisers were very friendly and approachable and made me feel very relaxed from the beginning.

Since attending the course I have recommended it to our sister company, Cambridge Medical Ltd.

I had such a fantastic time on the course a feel so much more confident now in my abilities as a phlebotomist. This has also benefited our organisation as we now have four fuilly trained phlebotomists within the company who work together to meet the demands of the organisation"

Dr. Karen Lang, Stirling Medical Innovations - Stirling

"Four members of our academic staff took the Basic Phlebotomy Course in April 2009. This course had been recommended to us by colleagues at another institution.

Our trainer for the two day course was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful, and approachable. The content of this course, while focusing on phlebotomy in clinical situations, was applicable to our needs in the research environment. Participating in this course has provided us with the basic knowledge necessary to obtain blood samples from human participants in research studies."

Dr Gethin Evans, Senior Lecturer - Manchester Metropolitan University
